Welcome to Caroline's Cleaning Cupboard

After nearly 30 years of cleaning homes across Hamilton, Burlington, Halton and the surrounding area, I've been asked just about every cleaning question imaginable.

"How do you get oven racks clean?"

"What's the best way to remove hard water stains?"

"What products do you actually use?"

"Is there a trick to cleaning windows without streaks?"

Those questions inspired this new series.

Over the coming months, I'll be opening my cleaning cupboard and sharing the products, tools, techniques, and little tricks I've learned after thousands of hours spent cleaning homes. Some of them are products you can find at your local hardware store. Others are simple habits that make cleaning easier, faster, and more satisfying.

I'll also share a few things I don't recommend. Not every product lives up to the advertising, and over the years I've learned that the right technique is often more important than the newest gadget.

If you've followed Maid of All Work for a while, you'll know I like practical solutions. I'm a big believer in creating simple systems that make life easier. Our family is riddled with ADHD, so I've learned not to rely on memory when I can rely on routine instead. I clean my oven every spring and every fall, water my plants on the same day every week, and look for little ways to make Future Caroline's life a bit easier.

You'll probably see that philosophy sprinkled throughout these blogs.

Cleaning isn't just about having a tidy home. It's about taking care of the place you live, using good tools, working smarter instead of harder, and finding satisfaction in doing something well.

Some posts will be about products. Others will be about techniques, organization, or lessons I've learned while helping families care for their homes over the years.
